I have gone through this. After months of blogging silence, I thought I would share my experience so that when you go through the same pain, the same loneliness, you can know you're not alone.
It'll be okay
It starts for a reason. Maybe you're working two jobs, taking care of children, going to school. Suddenly, your Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedule is far too overwhelming. Sure, you could cut down to one post a week, but when you feel like this...
You just want out!
So you post it. The 'I'm sorry, but I've really gotta leave for awhile" post. Everyone is kind, everyone is understanding. You know your friends will still be there when you get back. The relief is instant.
And for a few weeks, you feel great. But then you kind of want to know how your friends are. Time slips further and further away, blogs get distant, and you feel too guilty to comment because you're just going to disappear again. Guilt and loneliness start to set in, but there's still some joy.
A few weeks later.
A few months later.
Then, when things calm down and you can FINALLY return to blogging.
And you can see old friends online again.
And you start to apologize profusely.
Pwease forgive me?
And everyone forgives you, like they said they would.
